Valentina Fedeneva

soprano, soloist of the Mikhailovsky Theatre opera

Valentina Fedeneva graduated from the Prokofiev Donetsk Music Academy in 2007, where her teacher was Nikolai Momot. In 2006, while still a student, she became an opera soloist at the Donetsk Opera and Ballet Theatre.
In 2010, the singer entered the Youth Opera Program of the Bolshoi Theatre of Russia under the direction of Dmitry Vdovin, and in 2011 she became a guest soloist of the Bolshoi Theatre.
Since 2014, Valentina Fedeneva has worked at the St. Petersburg Opera Theatre, and in 2020 she joined the opera troupe of the Mikhailovsky Theatre. In 2021, the artist was awarded the Onegin National Opera Prize for her performance of the role of Natalya in the opera “Oprichnik”.
Critics write about the singer’s unusually warm, beautiful timbre: “Valentina Fedeneva’s wonderful, gentle soprano touches the most sensitive strings of the audience’s soul — such is the enormous power of this fragile artist.”
