New Year's Concert of Soviet and Foreign Popular Music

This year, for the fifth time, Soviet and Western popular songs will be performed at the New Year’s concert at the Hermitage Theatre. It is a time-honoured tradition that the Mikhailovsky Theatre’s opera singers and orchestral musicians appear on this famous stage at the turn of the year.
The programme for the evening will include some of the best-known Russian and Western hits of the twentieth century, including songs by Muslim Magomayev, Maya Kristalinskaya, Eugene Martynov, Alla Pugacheva, Frank Sinatra, and Tom Jones, as well as extracts from the musicals Chicago and The Sound of Music.
On stage to welcome the audience into the new year will be Victoria Voytenkova, Irina Mikhailova, Sofia Fainberg, Dmitry Golovnin, Damir Zakirov, and Alexander Shakhov.
